Bar-Headed Goose
Bar-Headed Geese, named for the two distinctive black bars that circle the back of their heads, are a great addition to any waterfowl collection. Bar-Headed Geese have light gray plumage with dark lower flanks and white heads. They are very hardy birds. In fact, wild Bar-Headed Geese are famous for their yearly migration over Mount Everest, tolerating conditions far too extreme for most creatures. In captivity, Bar-Headed Geese breed readily. Both parents help raise the goslings, giving them the benefit of an increased survival rate.
